How Mircroneedling Works

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. We use sterile, single use needle tips. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. Through the process of neovascularization and neocollagenesis, there is improvement in skin texture and firmness, as well as reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.

Immediately after your microneedling treatment your practitioner may apply a topical gel, cream, or serum to increase treatment effectiveness. Absorption of these products directly after a microneedling treatment are enhanced due to the tiny channels made by the fine needles.

There is no downtime to a microneedling treatment but you may have redness similar to a sunburn for approximately 24 hours.
